There ain’t no business like SHOW BUSINESS

Ever heard the saying “there is no business like show business”, believe it or not, it was true then it remains true now. You see, for introverts like me this is a daily struggle.

Put yourself out there, they said, build your confidence they said… and so on. But the truth is for some of us, it just does not come that easy.. But listen, that is no excuse. People pay attention to what they see, hear, and are bombarded with. Some people do it by making the most noise… side eye Mr Trump

Some are more subtle weaving themselves into your life so much so that you just find yourself reverting to them.. Hello google, what part of my life don’t you insert yourself in..

Either way, I have found that the person, or business that is able to create the most hype and draw the most eyeballs around themselves or their product seem to be the ones that rise to the top like cream.

‘How does this affect me?’ you ask, Well, I would like to inform you that until you are able to create some hype, and generate and sustain interest in what you have to offer your business doesn’t really stand a chance. If you want to remain relevant, or expand your reach you need to find a way to create hype – find out what people are interested in, what need they have and tailor your offering to meet that need – Not just at a basic level bt you have to show what makes your own product so special or different from others.

Trust me this isn’t far fetched, three strategies that I have seen businesses employ include:

The shock factor – remember those viral videos – why do you think you keep watching it over and over again – Shock factor

Fear of missing out – This is where influencers and popular brands come to play. You see someone has something, and you also want to have the same so you can be associated with them.

Monopoly – Providing a service that is hard to replicate

So think to yourself, how can I create hype around what I am doing? That may be the key to moving you from that great idea that hasn’t gotten any traction to a place of relevance and recognition.  Just think about it
