A few tips if you are planning a week long trip to Vancouver
- Stay as close to downtown as possible. I know a downtown hotel can be a little pricey , however you will be able to walk to most of the popular attractions downtown, saving the cost of ubers or cabs. this can be a little costly
- Use public transport – buy a compass card. It is a cheaper way to get around and you get to experience the skytrain, seabus, and cable car/trams/ buses like a local.
- For rainy days, borrow an umbrella from the Hotel front desk or from the Harbour centre.

Day 1: Go up to the skytrain platform within the airport, you will need to purchase a compass card. Take the skytrain from the airport to your hotel in downtown Vancouver. I had the best time at @deltavancouver on West Hastings. Perfect for extended stays, you get a roomie suite and I certainly appreciated the extra space. It is also in great proximity to #waterfront, #canadaplace, #harbourplace.
Day 2: Explore Canada Place and Stanley Park. You can do this on foot (note this will be a lot of walking) or rent a bike (you will find bike around Canada Place, and probably in may other spots along the street)
Day 3: Explore Robson Street. This is a very long and popular shopping street with all the high end brands and loads of unique food spots. Take a long walk to see the Gastown, and watch the vintage steam clock go off every 15 mins
Day 4: Cross over the water to Londsdale Quay Public market in North Vancouver via the seabus. The seabus takes about 5 mins to cross over to North vancouver. Visit the Lynn valley suspension bridge, and explore residential areas by foot.
Day 5: Don’t miss Vancouver Nightlife at Yaletown. Yaletown-Roundhouse absolutely comes alive at night with music, luxury cars, steakhouses, cars, Vancouverites young and old
Day 6: Visit the popular Granville Islands Market. You’ve gotta try the freshly caught cod in the fish and chips. You can also make this a beach day – visit the popular Kitsilano (Kits) Beach
Day 7: Check out day! Walk to Chinatown (in the day time preferably) and see the Dr Sun Yat Sun building – Guinness book of records’ narrowest commercial building. Take the skytrain back to the airport.
